The Home Repair Program provides funding for low to moderate-income Yukon homeowners to repair or address core housing needs in their principal residence.
The Home Repair Program includes 4 streams of funding:
- a grant for emergency repair for your home;
- a grant to improve the accessibility of your home;
- a grant to improve air quality due to wildfire smoke; and
- a loan to repair your home.
Who can apply
- You must be a Yukon resident for at least 90 days prior to application.
- You own your home and it's your principal residence. This could include home ownership on First Nations land.
- Your household income is below the affordable housing income limits (AHILs).
- Your home needs repairs or upgrades to improve air quality, energy efficiency, overcrowding, accessibility or health and safety.
You can only receive 1 grant per household a year, conditions apply.
Home Repair Program funding
Emergency Repair Grant
A non-repayable grant of up to $10,000 for approved homeowners to fix serious, unexpected and dangerous situations requiring immediate repairs.
You will be required to provide proof that your insurance will not pay.

Eligible projects include repairs that, if unaddressed, could cause significant damage to a housing unit or building, or lead to significant inconvenience or risks to the health and safety of residents or maintenance staff.
When to apply
You can apply for the Emergency Repair Grant all year round. We fund eligible applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
Accessibility Grant
A grant of up to $30,000 for approved homeowners to retrofit their homes if they have mobility challenges. Talk to us about the conditions that apply.

Wildfire Grant
A grant of up to $1,500 to purchase air-purification equipment or supplies to improve the air quality in your principal residence. Talk to us about the conditions that apply.
Equipment or supplies include high-efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) filters, air purifiers, or air cleaners.

Home Repair Loan
This stream provides a loan of up to $70,000 for homeowners who need to upgrade or repair their homes. Loans amortize up to 15 years in 5-year terms.

Apply to the Home Repair Program
- Complete a home repair program application. If you complete your project before you receive written approval from the Yukon Housing Corporation, you will not qualify for funding.
- Complete a verification of employment form, if applicable.
- Submit a completed and signed application with all required documents.

We offer Good Energy rebates on renovations and upgrades that make your home more energy efficient. You can combine these rebates with Yukon Housing Corporation’s Home Repair Program.
